Kriya Yoga Tradition

They say that far away in the forbidden mountains of the Himalayas, where no human foot ever walked, in the realm of snow and ice, lives surrounded by great disciples, the immortal MahaAvatar Babaji - the living will of the Supreme Lord, the Father and the Teacher for many famous yogis and saints around the world. Described as an eternally young and indescribably beautiful sixteen-year-old youth, Babaji by his mercy allowed people, immersed in samsara, to feel the light of Creation, through a practice called Kriya Yoga.

"All these 18 siddhis and Babaji  obtained thanks to the mercy of God (whom the siddhis called Shiva, Murugan, Vishnu or Shakti) and the use of special kriyas (techniques) to prepare their thicker bodies for the descendance of the divine. These techniques are collectively known as kriya yoga siddhanta, that is, practical yoga techniques that contribute to the perfect realization of the Truth or God ".

Babaji has innumerable siddhas, including clairvoyance, teleportation and the ability to manifest and disappear at will. Very little is known to the general public about this magnificent saint. It is said that he was born in the second century of our era and already at a young age became a realized yogi. He was the master who dedicated to the tradition of Kriya Yoga Jesus Christ and he is the one whom EP. Blavatsky called Maitreya - the Buddha of the future and the World Teacher of a new era.

Babaji is a transcendent Master, that is beyond the understanding of most people on the planet Earth, and only selected practitioners with an open heart, full of love, zealously following the instructions of Kriya Yoga, are able to see Mahavatar Babaji and know his supreme mercy.

Kriya Yoga is the story of love: to God, to the Universe, to Guruji, and to immortal Spirit. This practice of awareness of the Cosmos as it is, an attempt to dissolve the limitations imposed by staying in a mortal body, an attempt to catch at least the reflection of Truth, is a hard and laborious work of self-knowledge and reunification with the immortal Atman.

The person who introduced the teachings of Babaji into the world was Yogaraj Sri Lahiri Mahasaya. From him stretched out the lines of succession, passing from teacher to student. Among them is his son Tinkori Lahiri Mahasaya, and grandson Satyacharan Lahiri Mahasaya, Guru of Paramahansa Yogananda - Swami Sri Yukteshwar Giri and now living successor of parampara - Guruji Shri Shailendra Sharma.
